Classic director’s chair with crossed legs
The “Alfred” director’s chair is the classic model amongst our director’s chairs and set chairs. Crossed legs, collapsible armrests and a slightly angled backrest define this classic design. A timeless director’s chair for all occasions.
The story behind the name “Alfred”
Our “Alfred” director’s chair takes its name from Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, the British filmmaker who worked as a director, screenwriter, editor and producer. Hitchcock’s complete works include 53 feature films, amongst them his most famous work, “The Birds”.
“The Birds” (1963) is considered the classic horror film, closely followed by “Psycho” (1960) and “North by Northwest” (1959).
Information on the type of wood and the upholstery fabric used for the chair
This model is made in the EU from clear lacquered solid beech wood, which leaves the grain of the wood visible and protects the material at the same time. The hinges and/or fittings are made of steel.
Please be aware that beech wood chairs are not weather resistant. Therefor you should not leave them outside constantly. We recommend to simply fold the chair an store it space saving, if it is not used.
For mere outdoor purposes please have a lokk at our directors chair Oscar in Iroko wood (similar to teak).
The grey beige covers are best described as sandy light brown. The durable material is water resistant and lightfast, which leaves it unimpressed by a light rain shower.
