Comfortable “Woody” director’s chair
The “Woody” is a simple director’s chair with a slightly angled back rest, mid-height armrests and crossed legs with side reinforcements. Like all the models on our online shop, the “Woody” is collapsible and has a diverse range of applications e.g. on film sets, in the gastronomy industry or also for private use. Furthermore, the “Woody” director’s chair is very unusual - as it is available in a number of colourful woods.
The story behind the name “Woody”
Our simple and stable “Woody” director’s chair gets its name from arguably the most prolific film director (and comedian, author, actor and musician) of our time: Woody Allen.
Woody Allen was originally named Allan Stewart Konigsberg. His career as a comedian began in his early youth, when he started to write jokes for the David O. Alber agency, which were then sold to columnists at big daily newspapers. At age 16, Konigsberg resolved to be known henceforth only by his stage name, “Woody Allen”. Today, Allen’s complete works include more than 50 titles, amongst them feature films such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Manhattan and Bullets Over Broadway.
Information on the type of wood and the upholstery fabric used for the chair
The black lacquer protects the solid beech wood and masks the grain of the wood to near invisibility. This gives this chair, produced exclusively in the EU, a very clean, modern look. The hinges and/or fittings are all made exclusively of steel.
Please notice that beech wood is not weather-proof. You should not leave the chair outside permanently. Please simply fold it and store it, if it is not used.
For mere outdoor purpose we recommend our directors chair Oscar in Iroko wood (similar to teak).
The polyacrylic covers in mandarin seem like restrained orange. The lightfast, water resistant material is very durable, which is why it looks as good as new even after years.
