“Oscar” comfort director’s chair
With its minimally angled backrest, reinforced sides and wide seat, the “Oscar” is a real comfort chair. The “Oscar” is available as an indoor director’s chair in solid beech wood and also as an outdoor director’s chair in Iroko.
The outdoor director’s chair in Iroko has legs with side reinforcements and is finished with Iroko wood, which is also waterproof! Its upright backrest, which is not fixed in place, gives this outdoor chair a particular stability.
The story behind the name “Oscar”
"And the Oscar goes to..."
The filmmakers that have leant their names to our director’s chairs should be well known to most people who are interested in films and cinematography. The “Oscar” is one of our most comfortable director’s chairs and brings that real “film feeling” directly to you. The Academy Awards (official name: Academy Award of Merit) widely-known by their Oscars nickname, are given out annually to the best films of the previous year.
The famous film prizes were first awarded in 1929, eight years after the distribution of the Photoplay Awards, which were the worlds’ first film prize.
Information on the type of wood and the upholstery fabric used for the chair
The brown lacquer of this model, which is produced exclusively in the EU, protects the solid beech wood. At the same time, the grain remains visible and is gets a darker, nut brown tone. The hinges and/or fittings are all made exclusively of steel.
Please notice that beech wood in general is not weather-proof. The chair can not be left outside permanently. Please simply fold it and store it, if it's not used.
For pure outdoor purposes please have a look at our directors chair Oscar in Iroko wood (similar to teak).
The covers with a touch of yellow are made of durable polyacryl and are water resistant and lightfast. The high quality of the material easily withstands many folding processes without losing its shape.
